Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio have concluded talks in Manila.
Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on the conflict in Ukraine, bilateral diplomatic relations, and regional security.
The ministry said Lavrov briefed Rubio on the current situation along the front line and stressed that continued arms supplies to Ukraine were unacceptable. He also reaffirmed Russia's readiness to resolve the conflict and its commitment to the agreements reached in Anchorage.
The sides discussed efforts to normalize the operating conditions of Russian and US diplomatic missions, as well as regional and international issues, including the situation in the Persian Gulf.
Lavrov and Rubio agreed to maintain contacts through their foreign ministries, including within international organizations. They also welcomed the resumption of full-fledged cooperation between Roscosmos and NASA and expressed support for expanding interparliamentary exchanges and cultural ties.
The Russian delegation included Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, Foreign Policy Planning Department Director Alexey Drobinin, and Russia's Presidential Representative to ASEAN Evgeny Zagaynov. The US delegation included Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker and Presidential Special Envoy Sergio Gor.
