CENTCOM: US, Saudi strike Iran-aligned targets

U.S. and Saudi Arabian forces carried out precision airstrikes against Iran-aligned targets in Iraq on July 28.

Axar.az reports that, according to a statement posted by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on X, the strikes targeted terrorists directed by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to attack U.S. forces and Saudi Arabia's energy infrastructure.

CENTCOM said U.S. and Saudi fighter aircraft struck multiple terrorist logistics and weapons sites across eastern Iraq in response to more than 30 IRGC-directed drone attacks over the past 72 hours.

The command added that the attacks against U.S. forces were unsuccessful.

According to CENTCOM, Iran-aligned militant groups carried out more than 600 attempted attacks on U.S. personnel and facilities in Iraq between February and April 2026.

"The IRGC and its terrorist proxies must cease these attacks to avoid further U.S. military response," the statement said.
