CENTCOM completes large-scale strikes on Iran

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has completed a large-scale wave of strikes against Iran in response to the missile attack targeting U.S. forces in the Middle East.

Axar.az reports that according to a statement published on CENTCOM's official X account, US forces struck dozens of targets belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including military command centers, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and defense sites, and maritime capabilities.

CENTCOM said the strikes were intended to further reduce threats posed by Iran and its proxies to U.S. forces, commercial shipping, and neighboring Gulf countries.

The command stated that on July 28, IRGC forces launched multiple ballistic missiles from Iran in an attempted surprise attack on U.S. forces stationed in the Middle East. According to CENTCOM, all of the missiles were successfully intercepted.

CENTCOM also noted that more than 50,000 U.S. service members remain deployed across the Middle East and are "highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready."
