Russia unlikely to fully occupy Donbas before 2028

If we are talking about a very optimistic scenario for the Russians, it would be the end of 2027. Around that time, they might manage to completely encircle both Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. But let me stress once again, this is the best-case scenario for Russia.

Axar.az reports, citing Unian, that Ukrainian military analyst Ivan Stupak made the remarks while discussing a scenario in which Russia fully occupies the Donbas region.

“However, given their current capabilities, if nothing changes dramatically on the front lines for either side, the full occupation may not occur until 2028,” he said.
