Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to make his first-ever visit to Serbia on Aug. 8.

Axar.az reports, citing the Kyiv Independent, that the visit is seen as symbolic, as Serbia has traditionally maintained close ties with Russia while seeking to balance its relations with Moscow and the West.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic visited Ukraine for the first time in June 2025 during the Ukraine–Southeast Europe summit in Odesa, where he offered practical assistance to Kyiv but did not sign the summit's joint declaration condemning Russia's aggression.

The reported visit would mark Zelensky's first trip to Serbia since taking office.
