Erdogan: Mecca Agreement open to all regional partners

The agreement, which also reaffirms the right to self-defense as defined in Article 51 of the UN Charter, is not directed against any country and is open to the participation of all brotherly nations seeking to promote peace, prosperity, and stability in our region.

Axar.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the remarks in a post on X.

He said the agreement signed by Turkiye, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia is not directed against any country.

The three countries signed the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, aimed at strengthening collective deterrence against acts of aggression.
