Ukraine strikes TANECO refinery and oil terminal

Ukraine struck the TANECO oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan, and the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal in the village of Volna, Krasnodar Krai.

Axar.az informs, citing Ukrainian media, that according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the strikes were carried out on August 19 and overnight into August 20.

According to the General Staff, the TANECO refinery was hit, sparking a fire at the facility.

TANECO has the capacity to process up to 16 million tonnes of crude oil annually. The refinery produces a wide range of petroleum products, including motor fuel, and is used to meet the needs of the Russian military.

A fire was also reported at the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal following the strike.
