Von der Lyen: Russia targeting civilians as it loses war

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has accused Russia of retaliating for its losses in the war by targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.

Axar.az reports that Leyen made the remarks on X.

"Russia is losing the war it started. And it is retaliating by targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.

We are working with Member States and our partners to support Ukraine’s anti-ballistic capabilities.

So that Ukraine has the means to prevent the loss of lives. The most urgent of priorities," she said.

It should be noted that the death toll from Russia’s attacks on Kyiv overnight on August 20 has risen to 15.
