Netherlands to fund search for missing persons in Azerbaijan

The Netherlands will provide financial assistance to help determine the fate of missing persons in Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Axar.az reports that Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen made the remarks at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart in Yerevan.

He said new funding would be provided through the International Commission on Missing Persons to help establish the fate of missing people, locate their remains and identify them.

"It is extremely important to build bridges of trust here and make this part of the peace process. This is a very important program for which the Netherlands wishes to provide financial support and, if possible, assistance in other ways as well,” Berendsen added.
