Russians are more afraid of the government than criminals.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Lev Gudkov, head of Levada Center.

"Fear of criminals has decreased. Fear of the authorities, especially the police, has increased," he said.

Gudkov also said that all the activities of the government are not aimed at reducing crime, but at preventing the opposition.
