We call on the European Parliament once again to stop interfering in Azerbaijan's internal affairs and court proceedings.

Axar.az reports that Aykhan Hajizadeh, the head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said this regarding the resolution of the European Parliament dated April 25, 2024.

"The resolution adopted by the European Parliament on April 25, 2024 is baseless and clearly distorts the human rights situation in Azerbaijan. The automatic adoption of such one-sided and biased resolutions without adequate evaluation has long become commonplace for the European Parliament.

This step is nothing more than a clear political order of a number of forces in Europe aimed at worsening relations with Azerbaijan.

In such an environment, certain group members of the European Parliament, who are guided by their own internal considerations and personal interests, are just promoting a distorted picture of the situation in Azerbaijan.

The intention of those promoting the adoption of such documents is also to divert attention from the really pressing socio-economic and political problems of European society.

In addition, calls for sanctions against Azerbaijan only complicate relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
