I hope that this international platform (COP29 - ed.) will allow us to strengthen contacts with countries of the Global South, and at the same time, to successfully develop relations with European countries.

Axar.az reports that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said these words in his speech at the High-Level Segment of the "15th Petersburg Climate Dialogue" in Berlin on April 26.

Recalling that Azerbaijan signed declarations on strategic partnership with nine members of the European Union, the head of state drew attention to:

"I hope that these international relations of ours will allow us to strengthen solidarity. There is a great need for this. We need funding, solidarity and joint responsibility."
