Putin explained this to the Ukrainians - Kirby

Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet expressed a desire to hold peace talks with Kyiv.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.

Kirby also noted that Putin has not yet achieved any strategic goals in the war with Ukraine.

"He did not relinquish Ukraine's sovereignty, on the contrary, he showed the Ukrainians once again how important independence really is, and they are fighting for it every day. He did not capture the capital, "did not cut off the head of the government." He did not capture any major city except Mariupol."
