Trump pledges to step in amid clash resumption, 500,000 fled

Hostilities have resumed on the Thailand–Cambodia border less than two months after a US-brokered ceasefire collapsed.

Axar.az, citing The Guardian, reports that speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania, US President Donald Trump said he would “make a call” to stop the renewed fighting.

Both Thailand and Cambodia accuse each other of violating the July ceasefire, with deadly clashes escalating in recent days.

More than 500,000 people have fled their homes, and casualties are rising on both sides.

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul says military operations will continue, while Cambodia’s Hun Sen says his country has been forced to fight back to defend its territory.
