A Saudi Arabian court sentenced a woman named Salma al-Shahab to 34 years in prison for using Twitter.

Axar.az reports that the "Guardian" published information about this.

According to the report, the court initially sentenced Salma al-Shahab, a 34-year-old mother of two children, to three years in prison for using the website in violation of public opinion and national security. But the Supreme Court extended the sentence to 34 years after the prosecutor requested the court to consider other alleged crimes. It was reported that negative tweets related to COVID-19, photos of her children, and retweets of tweets by Saudi dissidents living abroad about the release of political prisoners in the kingdom appeared on the woman's Twitter page.
