Egypt has threatened Israel that it will violate the Camp David agreement if the Israeli army enters the city of Rafah in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Axar.az reports that Egyptian officials are concerned about Rafah, which hosts more than 2.3 million Palestinians, becoming the most concentrated place for refugees. A possible operation in Rafah could lead to dire humanitarian consequences and a massive influx of refugees into Egyptian territory.

It should be noted that with the Camp David Agreement signed in 1978, for the first time in history, an Arab country (Egypt) officially recognized Israel and accepted its sovereignty over the occupied territories.
