Italy hopes for a fair tariff agreement with the US.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in a statement issued by the office of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

"We hope for the goodwill of all parties to reach an agreement based on mutual respect. Especially in the current geopolitical situation, there is no point in a trade conflict between the two sides of the Atlantic," the statement emphasized.

It should be noted that the US has imposed a 30% customs duty on EU and Mexican goods. The decision will come into effect on August 1.
