Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that his country may reconsider its relations with Armenia.

Axar.az reports that the Russian minister said this at the briefing organized within the III Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

"The Armenian side accuses the CSTO of leaving him alone. But real cases show the opposite," said the minister.

S. Lavrov reminded that the official Yerevan CSTO refused to place the observation mission on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"At the KTMT event held in Yerevan, work was carried out until midnight on the document on the formation of the mandate of the organization's mission to be placed on the border with Azerbaijan. The document was a joint work of the ministers of foreign affairs and defense of the countries included in the organization. But despite this, the next morning, Nikol Pashinyan refused," S. Lavrov said.

The minister noted that N. Pashinyan cited the failure of the CSTO to accuse Azerbaijan as the reason for the refusal:

"But after that, in a very short time, Armenia allowed the mission of the European Union on the border. The EU did not accuse Azerbaijan either, but they did not object to it."

He noted that official Yerevan prefers cooperation with countries outside the region:

"If this is the case, the Armenian authorities should decide on all the formats in the region. We cannot ban Armenia. But the decision should be made by the people. After that, the Armenian authorities can announce a new policy course. Such a thing forces us to reconsider relations with Armenia. They should comment on other forms of cooperation in the region."
