NATO's attempts to bring its borders closer to Russia in Ukraine are doomed to failure.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

"If NATO wants to bring its borders in Ukraine closer to our borders, we will not allow it," Lavrov said.

According to him, the fate of Western Ukraine is still unknown:

"Different politicians voice their opinions on this issue. But Ukraine, which is originally Russian, wants to be a part of the Russian world, wants to speak Russian and raise its children, and wants to bring flowers to the monuments of those who shed blood for this land both in the Russian Empire and during the Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War.
