The former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, asked the United National Movement to create a Board of Directors and appoint him as its chairman.

Axar.az reports that Saakashvili said this in his address to the opposition.

"I am asking the United National Movement Party to create the party's Board of Directors shortly and to nominate me for the position of the Chairman of the Board of Directors," the ex-president said.

Saakashvili also said that he fully agrees with the opponents of the draft law "On transparency of foreign influence" being considered in the parliament, and like them, he considers this draft law to be a "Russian project".

The politician advised the opposition forces to unite for the parliamentary elections to be held in October. According to him, the opposition can gather 70 percent of votes.
