The EU cannot recognize the re-election of Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela's recent presidential election because the country's electoral body has not yet submitted official voting records.

Axar.az reports that this is stated in the statement of the EU Council.

It is noted that the EU continues to monitor the events in Venezuela with great concern:

"The reports of international election observation missions clearly stated that the presidential elections held on July 28 did not meet international election standards."

Recall that Maduro won the election in Venezuela with 51% of the vote. After that, the opposition took to the streets and riots took place in the country.
