Kazakhstan updates CSTO agreement for force deployment

The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan has published the decision of the country's government on changes to the Agreement on the status of the CSTO forces.

Axar.az reports that the changes are aimed at improving the legal basis for the presence of collective forces in the territories of CSTO member states.

According to the amendments, military units can be sent to the territory of the host party in times of danger, aggression or upon official request to resolve crisis situations.

In addition, they can be sent to participate in joint exercises and unannounced inspections.
