Parliamentary elections kick off in Georgia

Parliamentary elections have begun in Georgia.

Axar.az reports that all polling stations across the country opened for voting at 8:00 AM.

Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), stated that 3,111 polling stations have been opened for the parliamentary elections. Of these, 3,044 are located in Georgia, while the remaining 67 will be in 53 cities across 47 foreign countries.

A total of 3,508,294 voters will be able to cast their ballots in this election. Of these, 3,113,747 will use electronic technologies to make their choices.

This year, 135,922 voters will be voting for the first time. Additionally, 95,910 voters will cast their votes from abroad.

Kalandarishvili noted that the list of portable ballot boxes includes 64,238 voters.

Voting will conclude at 8:00 PM.
