ÄThe United States has no right to use and distort human rights issues as a means of interfering with internal affairs, the investigative process, and the independence of the judiciary.

Axar.az reports that Aykhan Hajizadeh, head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said this in his report.

A. Hajizade said that fundamental rights and freedoms are fully ensured in Azerbaijan.

"At the same time, as in the United States, citizens serving punishment for criminal acts are subject to the requirements of the relevant laws of the penal regimes without any discrimination," Aykhan Hajizade said.

Aykhan Hajizadeh added that the demands of some foreign governments and politicians for the release of persons convicted by the court on criminal charges based on national legislation question their loyalty to the rule of law.

It should be noted that the US ambassador to Azerbaijan Mark Libby met with Gubad Ibadoglu, who is currently under investigation, and the embassy published information about the meeting on the X account.
