Elon Musk donated approximately $44 million to his pro-Donald Trump spending group in the first half of October, according to federal disclosures released on Thursday, as he intensified his support for the Republican candidate ahead of the Nov. 5 election.
Axar.az reports that, citing CNN, these contributions were revealed in a filing by Musk's America PAC, which had previously reported donating around $75 million to the group over a three-month period from July to September.
America PAC, which aims to mobilize voters in key battleground states, also reported spending over $47 million in the first half of October.
Additionally, the Justice Department sent a letter to America PAC indicating that these donations might violate federal law.
America PAC has not yet responded to inquiries regarding the letter.
