Chinese leader Xi Jinping said at a meeting in Lima with US President Joe Biden that China is ready to work with the new administration of US President-elect Donald Trump who will assume the office on January 20, 2025.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media.

"China is ready to work with the new US administration to maintain communication, expand cooperation and manage differences, so as to strive for a steady transition of the China-US relationship for the benefit of the two peoples," the White House press corps quoted the Chinese leader as saying ahead of a meeting at the Delfines Hotel on the sidelines of the 31st summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) underway in Lima.

Among other issues, the two leaders are expected to discuss the situation around the Ukraine crisis and the Asia-Pacific region. This will be Biden’s final meeting with Xi as US President.
