Several high-ranking officials of the Armenian Investigative Committee submitted their resignation letters after the name of the future leader became known.
Axar.az informs this was reported by the "Hraparak" newspaper.
The publication notes that since the dismissal of Arishti Kyaramyan, the Investigative Committee has been in disarray:
"The head of the Legal Department of the Investigative Committee, Artur Vardanyan, also issued a statement and said that after Kyaramyan’s departure, he could not even imagine continuing to work in the department. Chaos began in the Investigative Committee after Pashinyan announced that the new chairman would be Deputy Prosecutor Artur Poghosyan. During Anna Vardapetyan's tenure, Kyaramyan gladly hired employees from the Prosecutor's Office into the Committee. Some of them, upon learning that Poghosyan was going to the Committee, immediately submitted their resignation letters.. Among them is Arsen Simonyan, the head of the Economic Crimes and Smuggling Department, who came to the Committee a year ago from the Prosecutor's Office. He specifically joined the Committee due to a conflict with Poghosyan and wrote his resignation letter after learning that Poghosyan would soon be appointed as the head of the Committee. Simonyan is also the brother of Tigran Simonyan, a judge at the Court of Appeals, who submitted his resignation and left the judiciary at the beginning of August."
