Bashar al-Assad did not permit us to go to his aid, not only did he not ask, but he was also worried about us going and said that if we came, Israel would strike us.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by IRGC commander Mohammad Jafar Asadi.

He also mentioned that after Assad's fall, Israel would destroy the country's entire military infrastructure.

The IRGC commander criticized Turkiye's policy regarding Syria:

"Turkiye is part of NATO, and we should not see this country as separate from America and Europe. Turkiye is also part of them and serves America. America is behind the scenes, and they are spending money on these matters."

It should be noted that on December 8, Ha'yat Tahrir al-Sham captured Damascus, marking the end of Assad’s regime. Bashar al-Assad fled to Russia with his family.
