French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro has announced that a group of French diplomats will visit Syria to communicate with the country's new government.

Axar.az reports that he said this in a statement to the local media.

Barro noted that France is working to return Syria to the Syrians:

"We know the past of some of these Islamist groups. The new government in Damascus must soon be replaced by a transitional government that will represent all communities and faiths in Syria."

The head of the Foreign Ministry said that a diplomatic delegation consisting of four diplomats will visit Syria on Tuesday, December 17. This will be the first visit of French officials to this country in the last 12 years.
