The wife of Syria’s ousted president Bashar al-Assad, 49-year-old Asma al-Assad, began cancer treatment in Moscow a few weeks before her husband fled the country.

It was stated that Assad met his wife in the Russian capital after her arrival. Asma’s parents and their daughter, Zein, are also in Moscow.

According to the publication, it was revealed that one of Assad’s sons is studying in Moscow as well.

Asma al-Assad has been diagnosed with leukemia.

It should be noted that there were earlier reports suggesting that Asma al-Assad intended to divorce Bashar al-Assad and move to London.
