The Armenian government has requested the United States to place a lien on the mansion of former Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan in Massachusetts.

Axar.az reports that Armenian prosecutor Sashik Avetisyan shared this information.

"Taking into account that Vigen Sargsyan, who is accused of money laundering, purchased a mansion in the U.S. with illegally obtained funds, the property has been seized by the Yerevan court upon the investigator's decision," he stated.

A request for legal assistance has also been sent to U.S. authorities to place a lien on the property.

It is worth noting that in October 2023, the Armenian Prosecutor General's Office initiated a criminal case against former Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan for abusing his office and causing significant harm to the state. He is wanted in Armenia and is reportedly living in the U.S.
