The Iran-Azerbaijan border has always been a border of peace and friendship, and we will not allow the enemy's provocative actions to undermine this closeness and friendship.

Axar.az reports that Iran's Deputy Police Commander, General Qasem Rezaei, made these remarks during his visit to the Astara land border between Iran and Azerbaijan.

He stated that there are numerous border terminals and bridges for cargo trucks, as well as land border crossings for passengers, facilitating movement between the two countries.

General Rezaei emphasized that continuous efforts are being made to improve these connections.

The Iranian police official noted that, according to recent statistics, about 230 trucks travel daily from Iran's Gilan province to Azerbaijan, and Iran is ready to increase this number.

"Cooperation prevails on both sides," the Iranian general added.
