The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has unveiled a new underground base housing cruise missiles designed to hit destroyers in strategic southern waters.

Axar.az informs that Mehr news agency reported on the matter.

According to the report, IRGC Commander-in-Chief Major General Hossein Salami visited the "missile city" on Iran's southern coast the other day. During the visit, Salami inspected the combat readiness of the IRGC Navy's missile units at the new facility.

The advanced missiles located at the underground base are also equipped with electronic warfare equipment and can be put into operation as soon as possible.

It was reported that this is the third missile base put into operation in a month.
