The main goal of Nikol Pashinyan's press conference held the other day, which lasted 4 hours, maybe an attempt to prepare the public for a possible concession of the Zangezur corridor.
Axar.az reports that the Armenian opposition publication "Hraparak" published an article about this "concerning analysts".
The article mentioned the declassified documents of the US State Department of Radio "Azadlig" discussing the idea of a land exchange between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the 1990s. Thus, this issue was raised during the meetings between Robert Kocharyan and Heydar Aliyev:
"Commenting on these documents, Pashinyan said that debates with the former presidents of Armenia were pointless: "The publication of these diplomatic documents closed the issue. Now I can even say that I do not invite the three presidents to a debate because there is nothing more to argue with them. The published documents have made the debates completely pointless. The most significant is his (Kocharyan's) statement that a positive response will be given to the proposal to open the transport block of Azerbaijan."
It was reported that Nikol Pashinyan stressed at a press conference that he was ready to provide unhindered passage to Azerbaijan:
“However, Pashinyan stated that unhindered passage does not mean outside the jurisdiction of Armenia. What does “unhindered movement, but without bypassing the jurisdiction of Armenia” mean? Doesn’t this imply the logic of a corridor?
Former Chairman of the State Revenue Committee David Ananyan noted that unhindered movement of goods is possible at least after “border and customs checks”. Otherwise, it is nothing more than a corridor.”
