During the consultations in Istanbul, the United States presented an official note with an agreement on the appointment of Alexander Darchiev, Director of the North Atlantic Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, as the new Russian Ambassador to the United States.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in a statement by the Russian diplomatic mission.

Darchiev is expected to leave for Washington soon.

It should be noted that the previous Russian Ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, left his post in October last year due to the completion of his mission.
