The United States welcomes the cooperation between Armenia and Turkiye to temporarily open the Margara-Alican border crossing to allow Armenia to provide humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people.

Axar.az reports Louis Bono, a representative of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, shared this statement on X.

“This shows how cooperation in the South Caucasus benefits the entire region,” he added.

Notably, the Margara border crossing reopened yesterday, allowing four Armenian aid trucks to enter Turkiye en route to Syria.

The crossing is expected to remain open until March 31.
