Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that he had offered his American counterpart, Donald Trump, to agree on a ceasefire in the conflict zone in Ukraine from April 20.

Axar.az reports that, according to Stubb, he told the US leader about this during a personal meeting in Florida on March 29.

The Finnish president explained that a specific date is needed for a complete ceasefire without any conditions:

"Why April 20? Because we need a deadline, it's Easter, and on April 20, it will be three months since President Donald Trump took office."

The Finnish politician also called for the creation of a strong sanctions mechanism in case a ceasefire cannot be agreed upon or Russia violates its terms.
