Axar.az reports that this opinion was expressed by American politician John Bolton, who served as an advisor during Trump’s first presidency, in an interview with *Politico*.

"Trump views international relations through the lens of personal relationships with foreign leaders. That’s why he believes that if he has a good relationship with Putin, then the U.S. also has good relations with Russia. This is not true, but that’s how he thinks. He considers himself a friend of Putin," Bolton stated.
