The Pentagon believes that Russia is preparing for a long-term confrontation with Western countries in the military and economic spheres.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, American General Christopher Cavoli.

He said that the Russian leadership has rebuilt the country's military, economic, and social structures for this:

"Russia is trying to gain geopolitical advantages and deprive NATO of them. The Russian Federation also intends to create a regional and global power."
