The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, strongly criticized those citizens who, despite years of war, have yet to join the fight or support the country.

Axar.az reports according to Ukrainian media, in his view, if someone still hasn’t realized the reality of a war that has been ongoing for more than a decade, “it’s too late to wake them up now.”

A person who does not feel personal responsibility for the fate of the state has no moral right to call themselves its citizen, Budanov believes.

"How can someone be a citizen of Ukraine if they don’t want to defend Ukraine? And can they still be considered a citizen after that?" Budanov asked.

He added that, as harsh as it may sound, such a person cannot consider themselves a citizen. Moreover, that is exactly how society should perceive them.

In his opinion, everyone must contribute to victory — either on the front line or in the rear.
