The 21st extraordinary congress of Turkiye’s Republican People’s Party (CHP) has begun at the Nazım Hikmet Cultural Center in Ankara.

Berhan Simsek failed to collect the required number of delegate signatures, while another candidate, Umit Uysal, withdrew his candidacy shortly after the congress began. As a result, current chairman Ozgür Ozel remained the sole candidate.
