Kurtulmus met with Georgian counterpart in Tashkent

Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Numan Kurtulmus, met with Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, where he is attending the 150th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Axar.az reports according to Turkish media, during the meeting Kurtulmus emphasized that Turkiye respects Georgia’s territorial integrity, stating that resolving the underlying issues threatening that integrity would contribute to peace in the region.

He also underlined the need to establish a trilateral mechanism between the parliaments of Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, expressing Turkiye’s readiness to host a meeting in this context.
