India has test-fired its short-range ballistic missiles “Prithvi-II” and “Agni-I”.
Axar.az reports that the Indian Ministry of Defence announced that the missile tests were conducted under the supervision of the Strategic Forces Command at the Chandipur test range in the eastern state of Odisha.
The “Prithvi-II” and “Agni-I” missiles are key components of India’s strategic arsenal, designed for high-precision strikes.
The “Prithvi-II” missile has a flight range of 250 to 350 kilometers and is capable of carrying a warhead weighing between 0.5 to 1 ton. It is equipped with advanced guidance technologies and countermeasures against missile defense systems. Its engine is based on the Soviet-made “V-755” surface-to-air missile system.
The “Agni-I” ballistic missile was developed under the Indian Ministry of Defence’s guided missile development program. There are currently four missiles in this series in India’s arsenal. The “Agni-I” has a range of up to 700 kilometers.
