One of the main goals behind this week’s reshuffle in the Ukrainian government is President Volodymyr Zelensky’s intention to appoint individuals to leadership positions who can effectively cooperate with the new U.S. administration.
Axar.az informs that this was reported by Bloomberg.
The report claims that the current Prime Minister, Yuliya Svyrydenko, previously managed to conclude a reasonably acceptable deal with the United States regarding Ukraine’s natural resources in the spring:
“After weeks of exhausting negotiations, both sides were able to present a document to the public that appeared to be a diplomatic success. Allegedly, last year Zelensky began considering the possibility of Denys Shmyhal, the current Prime Minister, heading the Ministry of Economy. However, Svyrydenko’s success in challenging talks with the Americans convinced the president to make the decision he implemented this week.”
