Turkiye, Indonesia sign $10B KAAN jet deal

A contract for the sale of 48 KAAN fighter jets was signed between Turkiye and Indonesia within the framework of the ongoing IDEF 2025 exhibition in Istanbul.

Axar.az reports that the contract was signed by Haluk Gorgun, Head of the General Directorate of Defense Industries of the Turkish Presidential Administration, Ömer Cihad Vardan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSASH), and Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Defense of Indonesia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Haluk Gorgun stated that this agreement is the largest export contract signed in the field of the defense industry in the history of the Republic of Turkiye.

Emphasizing that the share of local production in his country's defense industry has increased to 83 percent, Görgün stated that they have set many records in terms of the projects they have implemented, ammunition and other systems they have produced, and that they have signed contracts with many countries.

It should be noted that the media wrote that the value of the contract is 10 billion dollars.
