Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan expand economic ties

The 8th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on cooperation in the economic and humanitarian spheres between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan was held in Baku.

Axar.az reports that the Ministry of Economy informed about this.

The meeting emphasized that the relations between the two countries are based on a solid historical foundation, cultural affinity, and mutual respect of the two fraternal peoples. At the same time, the prospects for joint activities in various fields, initiatives serving common interests in the economic sphere, were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, a protocol on the results of the 8th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission was signed. The document was signed by the co-chairs of the Commission - the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nokerguli Ataguliyev. The document envisages expanding partnerships in economic and trade, energy, transport, agriculture, and other areas.
