At least 3 battalions of the Russian army were surrounded in the Sumy region.
Axar.az informs that Ukrainian Telegram channels reported this.
It was reported that on July 11-12, the Ukrainian army concentrated its forces and launched counterattacks on the flanks in the western part of the Sumy region. With the first blow, the Ukrainian troops crushed the Russian positions between the villages of Konstantinovka and Kondratovka, and with the second blow, the positions between the villages of Alekseyevka and Vladimirovka in the east.
North of Kondratovka, the Ukrainian army advanced 3.5-4 km on the first day.
Although the Russians launched a counterattack from the encircled Kondratovka and Konstantinovka, on July 15, units of the 155th Marine Brigade and the 30th and 40th Motorized Rifle Regiments in Kondratovka were surrounded. Russian attempts to break the siege were unsuccessful and resulted in heavy losses.
It was reported that more than 700 Russian soldiers remained in the encirclement.
On July 23, the resistance of the besieged ended. Most of the Russian soldiers were killed, and a small number were taken prisoner.
Four more Russian battalions faced a similar situation in the direction of Alekseyevka.
It was noted that if the Ukrainian Armed Forces manage to hold their positions north of Alekseyevka and prevent the encirclement from being broken, the Russian army will lose up to 1,000 men over the next week.
