Death toll in explosion at Russian defense plant reaches five

Bodies of two more people were found as a result of the investigation following an explosion at a defense plant named after Sverdlov in Dzershinsk. Thus, the death toll has reached five.

Axar.az informs citing the RIA Novosti that the due information was provided by the Department of the Russian Ministry for Civil Defense for Nizhny Novgorod.

Notably, the explosion occurred at the large defense enterprise in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia on August 31. The fire which erupted in the wake of explosion covered an area of about a hundred square meters.

The plant named after Sverdlov produces a wide range of industrial explosive materials, checkers-detonators, shaped charges for crushing of lumps in the mining industry, perforating charges for the oil and gas industry.
