21 detained in corruption probe in Turkiye's Izmir

Twenty-one people, including Menderes Mayor Ilkay Cicek, have been detained as part of a corruption investigation in Turkiye's Izmir province.

Axar.az, citing Turkish media, the suspects are accused of issuing construction permits for personal gain, forging official documents, accepting bribes, abusing their positions, and committing other crimes as part of an organized criminal scheme.
