Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan would not be
surprised to learn that quite soon those protesting now against
election of Donald Trump begin asking for appointments to meet
him.
Haberturk reports this is how the Turkish leader commented on
the situation around rallies in the U.S. after the presidential
election in that country.
"I think, these protests are only temporary, I believe these
protests against Trump demonstrate intolerance of those who lost
(voted for Hillary Clinton - TASS)," Erdogan said. "No wonder if
quite soon most of the protesters will be on a line to meet
Trump."
The U.S. president-elect "has won without receiving money from
FETO (Fethullah Gulen Terrorist Organization)," the Turkish leader
continued. "He won on his own. He has financial opportunities,
using which he conducted the election campaign. And as for the
other party (Clinton’s team) - the media received leaks she had got
money from that organization."
Ankara accuses Gulen, who now resides in the U.S., and FETO of
involvement in the coup attempt in Turkey on July 15.
On Saturday, Turkey’s foreign ministry expressed concern over
the growing violence in the U.S. and called on its citizens to be
cautious while visiting the U.S. cities.
